For the simulation of your VHDL code, you can use the free tool GHDL. Information about the invokation can be found on the first pages of the "Getting started" section of the user guide on the site. In most cases, you should invoke your simulation run similar to this:
$ ghdl -r ENTITY --stop-time=TIME --vcd=WAVEFILE
For the analysis of the signals in your vcd file, you can use the also free tool GTKWave.
